'An Evaluation of Changes a Recovery Based Service'
conducted by Staffordshire University, April 2003

'Changes, a user led recovery based service, works at a local level within the community, in conjunction with other organisations/agencies, and provides an effective and supportive service for its members, within an area of service provision where very few options are available.

The finding within this report show that marked improvements have occurred in most areas for Changes users over a three-month time period.  Users were better able to develop and use personal resources, form close relationships, make sound decisions, and cope with stressful situations.  In summary, Changes offers a tried and tested formula for recovery.'

'A Vision for Mental Health Services in North Staffordshire'
conducted by Staffordshire University, May 2004

'
The research has established that Changes is meeting the recommendations of both National and local guidelines in the care, support and advice they offer to those suffering from mental health problems. It is also evident from these findings that Changes provides a service that is important and necessary to their service 'users' mental wellbeing.

Empowerment is an influential ideology in Changes philosophy as it is a means of helping service users to take control of their lives in order to recover from their mental distress.'
