CHANGES WIN THE NATIONAL LOTTERY AWARD (WEST MIDLANDS) 2005

Hello All,

We are jubilant that our mental health charity has received such  prominent support from local organisations, cross sector and members of the public.  Again a HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who sent e mails wishing us well and those who took time to vote.  In our category, Changes were in the top three of all organisations, nationally, who received lottery funding.  This is no mean feat.

During the regional finals that took us through to the national contest we secured 23,000 votes!  After hearing this news we were astonished that support has been given to an organisation, from the publicís view, can be greeted with apprehension and seen to work in such a difficult area.

The awards process has generated many e mails and phone calls from all over Britain and we are pleased to have waved the recovery banner and helped to put mental distress firmly at the focus of the awards.

The awards ceremony was broadcast on the new Community Channel on Cable, Sky and Free View on Thursday 10th November as well as receiving national press coverage.

Again from our service users, volunteers, executive committee & staff thank you.

Every good wish to all,

Barbara
