What are Changes Meetings?

Changes group meetings form an integral part of its recovery service, i.e. the 12 steps provide the structure and the meetings drive the process forward.

Changes meetings work on the principle of mutual-help, i.e. where people in mental distress join together to help each other.  At Changes meetings you can get guidance, encouragement and support: from a programme specifically designed to help you recovery from mental distress (that teaches you to gradually 'change what you can, and to accept what you can't') and from a group of people who  can share their insight and experience, understand how difficult it can be, realise the value of all your efforts, believe in you and share in your success, and appreciate 'that you alone can do it, but you can't do it alone'.

Who runs the groups?

They are run by 2 specially trained volunteers called Group Co-ordinators, (often people who have been 'in the programme' themselves) who are simply there to ensure the meeting stays on track.

What form do the meetings take?

Although taking place in an informal setting, each meeting employs a Group Method, i.e. set Protocol and Agenda, which ensures structure, a positive approach, and individual progress.

Weekly meetings are held throughout the following areas:
